Episode 10. Create & Curate Your Universe
Written by Aphrodite Delaguiado
Back in February, Lost In Books reached out to two young and talented local artists, Huy & Lili, to run Table of Plenty Youth Arts Studio - a workshop that aims to create an encouraging, open and safe environment where young people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds in South Western Sydney can gain a sense of agency through creativity and art.
And then…. COVID-19 happened.
Thanks to Huy & Lili’s creativity and resilience, they quickly adapted their process, conquered their fear of the unknown (and of being on camera!) and embraced the challenge of creating engaging content to reach out, connect with and inspire young people in isolation. It has been amazing watching them grow their confidence and skills with each new episode.
On this final (?) episode of Table of Plenty video series, Huy and Lili reflect on the past 9 episodes which they conceptualised and produced during COVID-19. Watch until the end to see a special cameo from the lovely Eden from our World Travels Book Club!
We hope that by watching this video series, you will not only learn cool things about art, design, photography and music, but that you will also discover something about yourself – your passion, inspiration, courage to try new things and the confidence to create and curate your universe!
Thank you everyone for joining Huy & Lili on this unforgettable creative journey. We hope that you’ve enjoyed each episode and had fun creating with us. Feel free to rewatch the series, revisit the exercises and share your art with us! #TofPArtStudio

Lili held her first solo exhibition, Tangible, at Scratch Art Space from 2 - 13 September 2020.
Tangible explores solitude, touch, connection and yearning. Lili explores these ideas through the use of abstract photography, film and multimedia installations. When considering the subject matter for this body of work, she chose to explore the depths of her inner world. Through the exploration of the internal drives both mental and physical, Lili uses an eclectic approach to express personal truths relating to how she materialises the idea of connection. Throughout the creation of this body of work, Lili chose to deliberately play with photography, installation, and multimedia works within this exhibition.
Lili had her curatorial debut, Buzz Sonnet, on 6 March hosted by Create Or Die, with Huy as the designer and event photographer.
Buzz Sonnet is a multidisciplinary exhibition and performance night that delves into themes of environmental appreciation, longing and prospective loss. Featuring an exciting line up of creative artists and performers that you need to be following right now.
“This is a love letter. This is a rebel yell. This is a romantic take on an environmental revolution.”
